There are three types of mission, Raids, Smuggling Missions and Assault Missions. In Raids, the captain attacks a target, and if victorious, carries home the booty. You can read about the other types of mission here .

Battle Difficulty

Each battle has a difficulty level. This is based on the captain's level and the strength of the the enemy defense. The difficulty is on a scale of one through three shields.

Picking A Battle

To pick a battle, simply select it, and press "View Selected."

Raid Battle

A Raid Battle will show what is the reward, what the energy cost is, and what Rules of Engagement there are, if any - some missions will require that you meet certain unit limitations (for instance, take at least 20% vehicles, or don't take any artillery). If you want to fight this battle, pressing "Accept" will move you to the next step.

Picking a Hero to Lead

You will then need to pick a hero to lead the battle. Higher level heroes allow you to deploy more units, and also remember that the deployment cost of the Hero is also deducted from what you can deploy in the battle. Emilia only has a deployment cost of 40 compared to Vancer's 80, so by using her we can get an extra 40 deployment to use on other units.

After picking a hero, press Attack, and then Launch Game.

Preparing for the Attack

Once the decision to attack has been made and the "Attack" button is pressed, it is time to prepare your forces. The "Attack" button opens up the "Battle Staging Room". It is here that all sides involved are listed.

The most important function of the Battle Staging Room is the "Army Editor" which is available through clicking the "Choose your army" button.

Army Editor

Inside the Army Editor, a Captain is able to select which of the units he has available in storage will be committed to the coming attack.

The units on the left side of the screen are those aboard the airship and available. To move one to the attacking army, simply click once on the image of the unit.

An attacking army must consist of at least one unit. It cannot have more than the battle's "Capacity" allows. Each unit type has a different capacity value.

Once the army has been prepared, you can launch the battle by pressing the "Launch Game" button.
