How to Retreat From Battle

Retreating From Battle
Sometimes things just won't be going your way in a fight, and retreat will be the better option. This page will tell you everything you need to know about retreating.
Automatic Retreats
To keep the pace of battles moving, an automatic retreat will be executed forty-eight (48) hours after standard battles against the AI are begun. PvP battles will automatically end after 14 days, and a winner will be automatically selected, the other play will count as having retreated.
Manual Retreats
Regardless of what kind of battle you wish to retreat from, the first step is to open the missions tab (crossed swords icon) in the lower right and to click on the mission you want to retreat from.
Clicking on Boss Battles or PvP games will take you to the game screen where you will be able to press a 'Retreat' button to immediately withdraw from the battle. Raids work slightly differently in that you abandon the mission from Jasmine's instead of from a dedicated raid battle screen.
Raids
There are times when a strategic retreat is a better option than sticking it out through a losing battle. Retreating will count as a defeat, and you will lose 10% of your remaining troops per shield of the battle (e.g. retreating from a 3-shield raid means you will lose 30% of your units).
Boss Battles
Retreating from a Boss Battle works in the same way as retreating from a raid - you lose a percentage of your remaining units. When you retreat from a Boss Battle, you do not cause the entire Boss Attack to fail, you can just try the battle again (though you will need to pay energy again to do so).
PvP Battles
You can retreat from PvP battles at any point, but if you do so after you have chosen your army and the host has started the battle, if you leave then the battle will count as a loss for you and a victory for your opponent.
