Researching New Upgrades and Technology
Unfortunately all technology ages, and the competition gets a leg up with new discoveries. That is why any good Marauder Captain invests time and money in research.
To find out more, please review the following information.
Research
Any airship worth a damn has a Research department. Inside its walls, the best science that money can buy, or steal, is available for a Captain to pursue in the form of Technology.
Whether you want to unlock new units or discover whole new areas of research, it is done in the Research Lab.
Researching of new tech will also yield experience for the captain.
In order to open the Research screen, find the button on the top left, highlighted in the following image:
Room Layout
There are three major areas of the Research screen.
A) Room Info
B) Research Queue
C) Research Options
Room Info
Every production room on your airship has Room Info.
a) Productivity - Productivity is a very important value. It is the sum value of the knowledge and efficiency of your Research Lab. The higher the Productivity, the faster your technological advancement will be.
b) Airship Upgrades - Indicates how much extra productivity you are getting from Airship Upgrades.
c) Labs - The number of Research Labs deployed across all bases. Each Research Laboratory you have deployed to a Base increases Productivity.
Research Options
The Research Options provide a list of all Technology available to be researched.
All Technology costs something. Usually there is a Gold and time cost. Sometimes a technology might also require Iron or Stone. Technology does not normally take up Storage or Deployment space.

a) List Of Available Technology - Technology will be listed here as it becomes available. Once successfully researched, it is removed from the list. Some technology is level based or has pre-requisites, like other Technology which must be researched first.
It is possible to see what future research options Technology will unlock by mousing over the item and looking under the 'Unlocks' heading.
Research Queue
The Research Queue is where Technology is lined up waiting to be researched.
a) Current Research - The Technology which is currently being researched.
b) The Queue - Up to four Technology items can be added to the queue to wait for research.
Once the entry reaches the top, it will be researched.
Researching A Technology
The process of researching something is easy. Simply find the Technology you want, make sure enough resources are available, and click on the item's icon.
Once added to the queue, if there is nothing else in the queue, research of that item will begin immediately.
If you want to cancel a piece of research, simple click the "X" in the top right corner for the item. All resources will be returned upon cancellation.
Clicking the X will cancel the current research
