How to Launch a Smuggling Convoy

Smuggling convoys are an efficient way to earn large amounts of Gold or Iron without as much effort on your part. All you need to do is set up a convoy, and then wait to see how the journey goes. Once the convoy arrives, you can claim the profits - assuming it wasn't attacked on the way.

Steps to start a smuggling convoy

First you will need to go to Jasmine's Gentlemen's Club so you can find missions. If you need help finding Jasmine's, have a look at How to Start Your First Raid.

Once at Jasmine's, the smuggling missions are in the second section. The numbers indicate how many resources you will get per cargo slot in the smuggling convoy. Some heroes have cargo slots, but usually you will be using Smuggling Trucks to move your cargo.

Smuggling Run Difficulty

The number of shields next to each smuggling run indicates how likely it is that the convoy will be attacked. This influences how many combat units and what quality of combat units you will need to reduce the Risk Percentage to acceptable levels (of course, exactly what constitutes 'acceptable risk' is entirely up to you).

Setting Up The Run

Once you accept a smuggling mission and pick a hero to lead it, you will need to assign units to the convoy. You do this in the same way as with a regular raid battle. However, instead of just choosing units to take in battle, you are trying to balance the Risk Rating with your profit. The Risk Rating dictates both how likely you are to be attacked, and the losses you are likely to take if you are attacked and choose to resolve the battle automatically. Adding combat units will reduce the Risk Rating, while adding smuggling trucks will increase it. To get the best reduction in Risk Rating, use different kinds of unit rather than five instances of the same infantry squad or vehicle.

Each smuggling truck, and certain smuggling heroes, have cargo slots. The total amount of resources you will get from a smuggling convoy (assuming no trucks are lost in battle on the way) is based on the number of cargo slots in the convoy multiplied by the value of the convoy. You can see this total in the lower right.

When the Smuggling Convoy has reached its destination, if it was not attacked, you just have to press the 'Collect Reward' button to get your resources. However, if your convoy did come under attack, you will need to decide whether to defend it yourself in a 3D battle, let the convoy defend itself in a simulated battle, or pay a Gem bribe to your attackers, who will take your resources, but let your units go unharmed. NOTE: If you choose to fight a 3D battle to defend your convoy, retreating will cause you to lose all units and your hero will become wounded.
