About Gems
Gems are precious stones that have been cut by some of the finest jewelers on the continent. They are difficult to obtain via normal play, and are most easily attained through The Black Market.
Gems can be exchanged for a variety of special deals, bonuses and units that are otherwise unavailable. Read on for information about the uses of Gems.

Speeding Up Research
Gems can be used to instantly complete research. You will see an icon next to the item of research which is currently being worked, this icon will state how many Gems are needed to instantly complete the research.
When you spend Gems on research, only the first item in the queue will be completed. To complete more than one item, you will need to spend more Gems.
Speeding Up Training or Construction
You can use Gems to instantly complete infantry training or vehicle construction. You will see an icon next to the item which is currently being trained or built, which will state how many Gems are needed to instantly complete it.
When you spend Gems on production, only the first item in the queue will be completed. To complete more than one item, you will need to spend more Gems.
Gaining Extra Stamina
By visiting the Wheelhouse Bar, you can buy food and drink to refresh your stamina. Click on the icon at the bottom of your stamina bar (highlighted in the image to the right) to go to the Wheelhouse.
Once there, just take your pick from the options available, and enjoy your extra stamina.
The Black Market
There are goods of all kinds available at the Black Market. You can get infantry, vehicles, and resources here, but you'll need Gems to do so. Make sure to keep an eye open for the Black Market only special units, you can identify them by the purple borders on their icons. Deals change regularly at the Black Market, so check often.
The Black Market is also the place to go if you want to buy more Gems. Click on the 'Buy Gems' button in the lower right and you'll be taken to The Vault, where you can purchase Gems.
Buying Avatar Accessories
Many of the items in the Avatar Creator require Gems to buy. You can try on clothes and items without paying anything, but when you go to save your character you will be prompted to buy whatever items you are wearing if you don't already own them.
To purchase an item of clothing or an accessory, click on the green 'Buy' button. Once you've bought something, it is yours forever, and you won't lose it if you temporarily change to wearing something else.
